Long-distance move from North Carolina to Florida

Lost stuff destroyed family heirlooms.

They lost the legs to my antique kitchen table, rug, and bed frame.  They packed art work around stereo speakers without bubble wrap which caused a hole in my oil paintings.  I have told them they have insurance they refuse to get my family heirloom painting fixed.  Apparantly in America you can expect to loose even if a company is insured.  I will submit photos later I sure do have them.

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

Worst Moving Company Ever!

I just used G8 Van Lines to move me from Miami to NY.  THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AND 100% THE WORST COMPANY THERE IS!  They tried in every angle to stick me with fees such as Shuttle Fees,Packing Fees, Re-Delivery Fees, etc.  The used movers who spoke no English and gave incorrect information and tried to screw me on both ends of the move.  Customer service was so [EDIT] poor that the threat of my taking legal action in regards to them not charging me what I signed a contract for, was the only way they would respond.  For anyone looking to use them, I highly advise against it as it is so bad that I am actually filing a complaint against them as well as a Better Business Bureau Complaint.I can only put one star at minimum or else I would place negative stars if I could.

Alert!

ALERT ! Worst company ever.. There were HIDDEN FEES .. They wanted to charge me over $400 more than the original price and charge it the day before my moving making the situation hard to find another company on such short notice. I had STOLEN ITEMS!. Im not kidding the guys took an hour to get from coral springs to Coconut Creek. Once the move was over I realized that our expensive professional camera was stolen, and just recently noticed that our BOSE sound dock is also missing! Im filing a POLICE REPORT and reporting to the BUSINESS BUREAU! OUR EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE!

Long-distance move from Florida to Colorado

Horrible!

RUN! This company was horrible! They will tell you anything to get you to use them. When I first called they said it was by weight and that I wouldn't even reach their minimum weight according to what I had told them I had. I called back when I thought I might have more than I originally thought and they once again told me I would be fine, they wouldn't charge me extra. The quote they gave me was what I would have to pay. I also asked to be pre-approved to use a credit card (as stated in their contract it must be authorized by a manger). They took my deposit and then forgot to charge me 6% fee for the credit card and charged by card again without acknowledging me (the full amount twice!).I was told they would be there at 11am to pick up my stuff. They then called and said 330pm. They called again and said 4 then 430pm. They didn't arrive until after 5pm. I was waiting around all day for them to arrive! 10 minutes before 430pm the office called and asked how I was planning to pay which I was flabbergasted because I was told I could pay with a credit card - they said their machine was down. When the movers finally arrived they took my credit card after talking to "headquarters". And they told me I was 400 cubic ft over the limit (mind you I was again told it was by weight not cubic ft otherwise I would have planned for that). Once again they called "headquarters" and told me it was fine. When they delivered my stuff they were missing boxes and originally refused to put the furniture together (this is stated in their contract that they would put everything together).I would never use this company again. When we called to ask about the box missing they guy literally said we'll have someone call you back and hung up - didn't ask for any of our information or anything.

Long-distance move from Florida to North Carolina

Avoid this company. Bait n switch.

Gave my disabled mother an estimate of $1400. She decided that wasn't within her budget. They called her back and told her they could discount it to $1200. This would be the cost of we did it ourselves. She said yes to this new estimate. They arrived 1 1/2 hrs late but got started quickly. The furniture was packed and promised to be delivered on Monday between 10 and noon. The truck was never dispatched on Monday but instead the company called my disabled mother and told her it would $6000 more to deliver her furniture. All our possessions, tvs and her oxygen machine are in the truck and the refuse to deliver it as promised without $6000 more. This company is a nightmare and a rip off. Avoid them at all costs. We have hired a layer and are starting legal action as well as getting a hold of local and national news organizations. Steer clear of this company.

Long-distance move from Florida to Virginia

G8 Van Lines.

G8 Van Lines is a very dishonest company! I was pushed into signing their contract, which never read anything like what we agreed on during our phone conversations. The contract did state that, all money but a 6% fee would be returned if the cancellation was made prior to 48 hours before the scheduled move. I always had a bad feeling about this company and decided to cancel even if I lost 6% of the moving fee. I followed all the instructions given on the contract re calling customer service and writing to the email address provided on the contract. When I talked to another representative of G8 he told me that they had previous problems with Jordan and that G8 had fired him. I was told thatthey would send me another contract that was equal to some other estimates that I had gotten in the meanwhile, all of which were lower than G8. It also bothered me that the insurance for my furniture was much higher with G8 Van Lines than with anyone else and I asked them about it. I was told that nobody ever used that insurance anyway and just not to get it. I kept saying that I really wanted to cancel. If they wanted to send a contract for me to look at I would but I did not think that it would alter my decision. Of course I never got anything--no revised version of a contract or my money back. The owner of G8 Van Lines claimed that I had not notified them in time and that he had the truck and men ready and that I could not get my money back. My move was supposed to be between 2/23/2015 and 2/25/2015. I sent my written notice and called customer service, as instructed, well before the end of January.  I should have known better when I was being pushed into a decision that I did not want to make, so I lost $750 to people who knew that I would be too far away from them to cause any damage. Please be careful and don't listen to anything this company promises you because they are ruthlessly dishonest.
